Wonho wraps up his first solo tour in style at London’s indigo at The O2

If you’re wondering why it’s still so warm in the UK despite it already being the autumnal month of September, it is our very unscientific opinion that full credit should go to the K-Pop sensation Wonho, who raised the temperature at London’s indigo at the O2 last night.

British Wenee (Wonho’s official fandom name) had the pleasure of seeing Wonho wrap-up his first ever solo tour - 2022 European Tour Facade - in London.

Wonho opened the show with his huge solo debut title track ‘Open Mind’, much to the delight of the audience who sang and cheered along from start to finish. After introducing himself, he moved on to ‘BEST SHOT’ and ‘I just’ before Wonho and his dance team treated the crowd to a medley of popular girl group choreography.

Despite the high-energy performances and top-tier production, Wonho’s show still managed to feel like a very personal fan meeting. From start to finish, Wonho was interacting with the audience, which made the whole concert even more meaningful to the Wenee who patiently waited throughout the pandemic for Wonho to visit the UK.

Of course, no K-Pop concert in the UK is ever complete without the artist attempting a British accent - we give Wonho a solid 9/10 for his personal effort. He also shared that he went to the Tottenham vs Fulham football match the day before to see the one and only Sonny - adding that, of course, nothing compared to seeing his British Wenee after so long.

Something that we have never seen at any concert before - and very much appreciated - was the addition of a stretching interlude. With the majority of the audience standing and many fans queueing outside the venue all day, it was a fantastic idea of health-conscious Wonho and his team to add this segment into an outfit-change break, hopefully we can see more of this at other tours in the future.

It seemed like neither Wonho nor the crowd wanted the concert, and the tour, to ever end. The encore lasted nearly as long as the main concert itself. But as they say - all good things must come to an end. It just so happened that Wonho’s first solo European tour ended in London on a very special occasion. 4th September was Wonho’s 2nd anniversary of his solo debut. Wenee celebrated by singing happy birthday in Korean at the beginning of the show, while the concert team presented Wonho with a cake towards the end of the concert.

After a few pictures with the audience, a final TikTok for his own account, and a good dose of fan service, the spectacle that was Wonho’s first solo Europe tour came to a close. It was refreshing to see how comfortable, happy and in-his-element Wonho was on stage. He has great chemistry with his dancers and an amazing bond with his fans - who he took the time to visit outside earlier in the day.

Everyone in attendance will undoubtedly be humming the setlist for the rest of the week (or make that the foreseeable future) and we can’t wait for Wonho to bring his powerful performance back to the UK again.
